ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday postponed its decision on the admissibility of a contempt of court suit filed against Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

During the hearing, the petitioner claimed that the insulting language used against former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar was in violation of the court’s rules, to which IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah responded that judges are subject to criticism.

He went on to say that because judges are in higher positions, they should embrace criticism.

As a result, the court has reserved its decision and delayed the case.
