PTV requested that the IHC enforce the SC order in the recovery matter.


According to A News, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the Islamabad District Collector to recover Rs190 million from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leaders Pervaiz Rashid and Ishaq Dar, former bureaucrat Fawad Hassan Fawad, and former Pakistan Television Corporation PTV MD Dr Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi in the PTV recovery implementation case.

According to the station, IHC has directed PML-N leaders including Qasmi, as well as Fawad Hassan Fawad, to submit a report within three months. The court directed that the recovery be carried out in accordance with the Supreme Court’s (SC) ruling.

It should be remembered that the Supreme Court decided in the Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi appointment case on November 8, 2018, and ordered the recovery of Rs190 million from PTV.

Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi was ordered to pay 50% of the entire sum, while Pervaiz Rashid and Ishaq Dar were ordered to pay 20% and Fawad Hassan Fawad was ordered to pay 10% of the money still to be recovered.

The PTV has asked the IHC to have the Supreme Court’s (SC) ruling implemented.
