People are entitled to offer opinions about a film, according to the actress, but personal assaults on performers are inappropriate and cruel.
MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi spoke out on Friday about the body-shaming she experienced on social media.
Despite her success and respect in the profession, Huma has been a regular victim of body-shaming trolls. She did, however, demonstrate amazing fortitude in the face of such nasty insults.
In an interview with a local news outlet, the 37-year-old actress stated her displeasure with the practice of certain individuals personally attacking celebrities if they dislike a film. She considers this conduct to be unacceptable and needless.
People are allowed to appreciate or loathe a movie, according to the actress. Personal assaults against performers, on the other hand, are unnecessary and cruel.
The actress emphasized that she is not alone in receiving such abuse, as many other celebrities have also been victims of body-shaming over their careers.
Huma shared her own experience with coping with harsh internet comments, revealing that the insults proved too much for her to stomach at times. She admits to feeling something was wrong with her as a result of the constant monitoring.
Huma Qureshi advises anyone in a similar circumstance to accept such personal assaults with a grain of salt and move on. She stressed that what is actually important is how one handles their initiatives and the support they receive from the public.
She rose to prominence for her portrayal in Gangs of Wasseypur and has since gone on to star in films such as Jolly LLB and Double XL.
