ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, as well as his sister Faryal Talpur, have been granted legal protection in connection with bogus bank accounts.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has received four references from the accountability court in connection with the fictitious bank accounts case against Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur.

The case against the former president and other defendants was heard today in Islamabad by the accountability court. Zardari’s lawyer, Farooq H Naek, and the NAB prosecutor appeared in court.
