LAHORE: PTI Chairman Imran Khan confirmed the date of his party’s long march on Tuesday, stating that it will begin on Friday, October 28.
The declaration occurred during a news conference at the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore, during which Khan stated that the march will begin at 11 a.m. from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk.
The former prime minister characterised the PTI’s protracted march as “far above” politics, claiming that the action amounted to “jihad” because it was now a vital moment for Pakistanis to choose sides.
“This march will determine whether or not the public wish to subject these “thieves” to servitude.” There is no timetable for our march for Haqeeqi Azaadi. “We will arrive in Islamabad via the GT Road, and the country will gather from all around Pakistan,” he said.
To shed light on how the government sent warnings to the PTI on the long march, Khan stated that when he was the premier, JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-Maryam N’s Nawaz, and PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had two long marches.
“At the time, they ignored the country’s economic predicament,” he stated.
The government had already sought the Supreme Court in an attempt to halt the PTI’s protracted march. However, the Supreme Court denied a bid for an interim order to halt the PTI’s planned lengthy march, giving the Khan-led party a boost.
Before it approached the top court, the government issued repeated warnings to the PTI chief, with a top official saying that the authorities would multiply their May 25 policy by 10 if Khan announces another long march.
If the PTI holds another long march, then it would be the second time they would be coming to Islamabad. The last march was held on May 25 and ended with Khan abruptly calling off the march after reaching Islamabad.
Khan, during the presser, added that he was supposed to start the long march much earlier but the government created hindrances for the party.

He went on to say that the coalition government has filed 24 first information reports (FIRs) against Khan so far.
