Following a statement by Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on unresolved tax matters before the courts, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah convened a high-level meeting.
A letter has been sent to Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javain Khan inviting them to the February 22 high-level meeting with Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah.
The Chairman of the Competitive Commission and the Chairman of the OGRA have also been invited to the meeting by letter. The letters were sent by the Registrar’s Office in Islamabad, and information on tax cases pending in the High Court was also asked.
On the other hand, Fawad Ch commended the IHC for holding a full court session on Twitter.
On Twitter, he wrote, “The government, judiciary, and other institutions remain together for the nation’s advancement and prosperity.”
