Mian Shehbaz Sharif, President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has responded to a letter from the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) on the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.
In his response, Shehbaz Sharif claims that the AGP letter creates the appearance that it was issued on the orders of the federal cabinet.
The PML-N President described the letter as an attempt to influence a pending case and stated that he has the right to take legal action if the affidavit is breached. He said, “I am astounded that the attorney general did not read the last line of the affidavit.”
The Opposition Leader of the National Assembly further stated that he is certain that this letter was drafted for political motives, ignoring all relevant legislation. The letter omitted the creation of a medical board, its operations, and its recommendations.
He went on to say that the letter is in contempt of court because the case is already being handled by the Lahore High Court.
