LAHORE- Sheikh Rashid, the leader of the Pakistan Awami Muslim League (PAML), stated on Monday that he anticipated Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to appear before the Lahore High Court (LHC) to request protective bail in a case brought against him for demonstrating outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office.
The LHC previously rejected Mr. Khan’s request for protective bail when he failed to attend, claiming a leg ailment that his physicians had forbidden him from travelling because of. The former prime minister opted to show up in court later despite reports of his detention.
The country’s economy is in a deplorable position, according to Mr. Rashid, who said that the wealthy are receiving subsidies while the poor are being starved. He said, “Terrorism is getting out of control, and any additional delay [in action] might fuel it.” He claimed that the court alone have the authority to guide the nation out of problems.
The ECP’s refusal to consult President Dr. Arif Alvi on the election date, he said, must be considered the beginning of a constitutional crisis. “We anticipate the President to announce the election date within three days,” he said.

Due to security concerns, an administrative judge of the LHC earlier this morning denied a petition asking for authorization to allow Mr. Khan’s car admission into the court premises.
