LAHORE (A News) : Minister of the Interior Rana Sanaullah said on Friday, despite the government’s respect for the court’s verdict, that municipal elections will not be held for four months.
Mr. Sanaullah told the media that Islamabad was already under danger after a suicide attack in the I-10 corridor a few days before.
Regarding the LG election arrangements, he said that it was not feasible to create 1,000 voting sites immediately. He estimated that it would take at least ten months to conduct the main election, which would likely occur in October.
Amir Muqam, a prominent politician of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday, stating that Khan had failed to deliver for the poor despite his party’s nine-year control in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Engr Amir Muqam addressed the party workers and people of Upper Dir after inaugurating electricity projects, including an electrical feeder at Akhgram. He stated, “Imran Khan has destroyed the country’s economy and social values, and has been found guilty of accepting foreign funding from rival countries in an attempt to destabilise and bankrupt Pakistan.”
According to him, the people of KP now turn to the PML-N to solve their concerns and would “reject the looter of Toshakhana” in the forthcoming general election.
“Imran Khan has brought disgrace to the country by allegedly selling Haram Sharif’s model watch for financial gain on the market,” he said, adding that such expensive gifts were given to the prime minister by foreign dignitaries as a sign of respect and friendship strengthening rather than being sold on the market.
Even close allies of Imran Khan, according to Engr Amir Muqam, are now discussing how he was chosen and forced onto the nation in the 2018 general election.
Engr Amir Muqam, who referred to Imran Khan as a “certified liar and king of U-turns,” said that Khan’s promise to dissolve the KP and Punjab assembly during his “failed long march” in Rawalpindi was also shown to be fake.
He said that Imran Khan had neither fulfilled his pledge to build five million homes nor created employment for ten million youngsters, and that he had squandered four years of the nation’s time by levelling false accusations against political opponents.
If Imran’s administration had persisted for two more months, according to Amir Muqam, the nation would have declared bankruptcy and defaulted.
“PMLN has joined the coalition government not for power, but to preserve the country,” he added, adding that the current administration had successfully removed the nation off the FATF’s grey list. He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his staff were working around the clock to rid Pakistan of all current obstacles.
He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made numerous trips to all flood-affected areas of the nation, including KP, and personally oversaw rescue, relief, and recovery efforts there.
On the other side, he alleged that Imran Niazi had overlooked flood victims even in the provinces of KP and Punjab, where his party was in power, concentrating instead on agitation politics and a pointless lengthy march.
Despite its inclusion in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 2017, the mega-project of Chakdara-Dir-Chitral and Gilgit has been shelved by the province’s incompetent rulers, depriving the people of the Malakand division of development, according to him.
He said that it was a massive communication project that, if completed, will connect Malakand division through Chitral with Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics, ushering in a new age of economic prosperity and stimulating commerce and investment in the area.
Muqam remarked that the people of KP were weary of agitation politics and the “bad performance” of the PTI, and that they had put their hopes in the PMLN, adding that if the PML(N) won the elections, a new age of growth and development would begin in all KP districts.
