The Punjab Assembly session resumed in Lahore on Saturday after members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) slapped and pulled the hair of Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari.

Following the resignation of Sardar Usman Buzdar, the session was summoned to pick a new Chief Minister.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) legislators tossed “lotas (round vessels)” at Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari as he arrived to chair the session for the election of the Chief Minister, causing havoc in Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly.

The PTI legislators caused a commotion in the Assembly when they carried “lotas” to the chamber and began screaming “lota, lota (turncoats),” lashing out at dissident PTI members who left the party and opted to back the opposition.

Despite the presence of security officers, MPs from the ruling party threw “lotas” at Mazari and subsequently assaulted him.

Earlier, the session was postponed when PTI MPs assaulted the Deputy Speaker.
