SUKKUR: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who led the Pakistan Tehreek-i-‘Haqooq-i-Sindh Insaf’s March’ at Kamoo Shaheed in Ghotki district’s Ubauro town on Saturday, stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party had done nothing for the development of Sindh and its people in the previous almost 15 years. “The presence of the public here to join this march against the PPP demonstrates that they desire a change and support Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he remarked.
“In the lengthy rule of the PPP over Sindh, no public welfare programme, no development plan, no new industries, and no farm sector growth had been observed,” he said, lamenting that PPP chief ministers, ministers, MPs, and other politicians just enjoyed power and acquired wealth.
Mr Qureshi informed the crowd that the PPP exploited Sindhis and stopped them from exercising their legal rights. He urged the people of Sindh to stand up against the PPP’s abuses.
FM Sindh’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi vows ‘transformation.’
“Opponents of Imran Khan and the PTI watch the sea of people coming here from all across Sindh and realise how strong our support is,” he remarked.
“Insha Allah, the PTI will annihilate the PPP in Sindh in the general elections in 2023 and create its government,” he said.
Mr Shah expressed sorrow that Sindh lags behind in the education sector, with thousands of schools abandoned and thousands more held by PPP-backed feudal lords who use them as stores and for other reasons.
He said that the Sindh government was paying thousands of ghost teachers and that many instructors were not doing their tasks. The youthful generation is denied the right to an education and a means of subsistence. He went on to say that all other departments had been wrecked and were riddled with corruption.
The Ghotki-Karachi march left towards Sukkur after Mr Qureshi and other PTI officials delivered remarks at Kamoo Shaheed, which is located near the Sindh-Punjab border.
Earlier, hundreds of PTI workers and supporters flocked to the gathering’s location to hear their leaders. Along with Mr Qureshi, PTI parliamentary party leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, Sindh PTI president Ali Zaidi, and Mir Iftikhar Loond talked to them at various points along the march.
They stated that in the approaching electioneering, they will conduct door-to-door campaigns in both urban and rural Sindh, particularly in Ghotki, Sukkur, and Kandhkot-Kashmore districts, in order to rid the masses of the PPP.
Unfortunately, Mir Iftikhar Loond tripped and fell on stage, injuring himself. He was sent to CMS Hospital in Panu Aqil for treatment.
