KARACHI: According to A News, two people have been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for allegedly being involved in a Rs200 million online business scam.
According to FIA authorities, the FIA’s corporate crime circle launched a raid in FB Area and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, arresting two people called Owais and Salman.
Officials said that “both are directors and CEOs of online companies that have been used to deceive the public.” The FIA has charged the individuals with performing suspected transactions worth Rs200 million.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued a notice to Binance’s local agent after discovering a $100 million internet fraud involving cryptocurrencies.
The perpetrators of the internet fraud transported the money abroad using bitcoin, according to Imran Riaz, Additional Director of the FIA’s cybercrime division.

According to him, people have deposited between $100 to $80,000 into bogus applications. “Those who built these programmes were related to cryptocurrency,” the FIA official said.
All individuals linked to the Binance cryptocurrency fraud have been identified, and their crypto accounts have been suspended, he said.
According to the FIA officer, cryptocurrency is also utilised in money laundering and terror financing.
