ISLAMABAD (Fort Abbas News): The government is set to amend solar net metering legislation in response to considerable public demand. Authorities have acted to address consumer concerns and safeguard current contracts.
According to reports, a letter has been issued to NEPRA asking for a review of the new solar net metering laws. Meanwhile, the Power Division has formally submitted a review request to the regulator.
The proposed adjustments attempt to protect existing customer contracts while also addressing the earlier shift from solar net metering to net billing. The Prime Minister personally took notice of the situation and directed the Power Division to begin the review.
Officials said the adjustments are meant to achieve the correct balance between increasing renewable energy use and preserving the interests of solar consumers, while providing the public a fair share.
